Synopsis :1) Introduction: At end of filming an insert states this Transit Food Centre serves its last customer on 31 Dec 1997. This food centre is built to relocate 144 stallholders of Telok Ayer Food Centre, which has to close 'because of structural defects' related to the construction of the MRT. It is closed on Friday, 5 April 1985 by Ministry of Environment. Transit Food Centre sees several stalls open for business by Tuesday, 16 April 1985.

Filming focuses on exterior and interior of food centre and features interviews with stallholders.
2) Content Description:
People crossing Shenton Way and walking in direction of food centre; name board of food centre; vehicles making for the centre's car park; people entering the centre and others leaving, with some carrying packed food.
Various stalls at food centre - sugar cane juice, banana leaf stall with queue forming, at another stallholder wrapping several packets of food; drinks stalls; Indian Mee stall; Selera Istimewa stall; frie mee hoon stall; Praise stall.
Long shot of ceiling and fans, tables all with crowd of people eating.
Interviews with five stallholders:
a) Ahmad Stall hot and cold drink, No 82 (in Malay);
b) Indian Muslim Mee Goreng, Stall 48 (in Malay);
c) Lau Fu Jiang, zi char stall (in Mandarin);
d) Hai Kee Famous Delicious Pork Porridge (in Mandarin); cut to car-park;
e) Ah Seng (Hai Nam) Coffee (in Mandarin); man, woman preparing bread with kaya.
Focus on ceiling and fans again; tables - several empty, some still have people eating; one man clearing bowls/plates; people leaving food centre.
General sweep of various stalls, without crowds of customers.
