    This is a recording of a talk given by Dr (Mrs) Nalla Tan on ""Legalisation Of Abortion"" to the Lions Club held at the Singapore Cricket Club. Dr Tan examines the social aspects of legalised abortion and touches on:
    - Why the subject of legalised abortion needs airing;
    - Should the law be so liberalised that legalised abortion be a method of population control?
    - The practice of legalised abortion in Japan and the lessons which can be learnt;
    - The social repercussions of liberalised abortion: (a) Possible effects on existing Family Planning Programme; (b) Direct psychological and emotional effects it can have on women and indirectly on the community;
    - Why abortion law can be liberalised, and circumstances of legalised abortion should be spelt out clearly;
    - More public debate on legalised abortion as the exact nature of the Bill on legalised abortion is still not known.
