Synopsis :

1. Clerk of Parliament read the Notice of Motion as the Election of President of Singapore, a motion standing in the name of the Prime Minister.

2. Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew's speech at the Election of President of Singapore:
- Proposal to elect Inche Yusof bin Ishak for a third term as Head of State and President of Singapore;
- PM Lee eleborated on the Constitutional changes in Singapore since 1959 and the various appointments held by Inche Yusof bin Ishak;
- PM Lee commended Inche Yusof bin Ishak and his wife on their achievements and contributions to Singapore over the past eight years as Head of State and President of Singapore;
- PM Lee moved motion to elect Inche Yusof bin Ishak as President of Singapore for a third term.
