  • Synopsis :

    The interview with HDB Chairman Howe Yoon Chong held at Queenstown is focused on the project 'Contract on Development of Singapore'. He explains for this ""plan of operation"" the United Nations will assist in planning and coordinating the development of Singapore over the next 20 years. By 1970 the team would develop comprehensive programmes on urban renewal and development, traffic and transportation, data bank for Singapore.
    Questions put to Mr Howe include:
    1) explain how Singapore aproach UN for help in planning for urban research and development;
    2) aspects of work of people engaged for this project;
    3) work of the team in Singapore;
    4) what will be UN contributions and also Singapore's contributions;
