This recording contains speeches given at a dinner to welcome four Ministers of State and to honour Mr Ismail Rais for being awarded the Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (PBM). The four Ministers of State are Mr Wee Toon Boon (Defence), Mr Rahim Ishak (Education), Mr Lee Khoon Choy (Culture) and Mr Haji Yaacob bin Mohamed (Prime Minister's Department). The speeches are given by the chairman of Siglap Citizens' Consultative Committee (CCC) (English, with Malay and Hokkien translations), Mr Rahim Ishak (Malay, English) and Mr Lee Khoon Choy (Malay, English, Hokkien). The chairman of Siglap CCC says the clean and efficient Singapore government deserves the people's support. Mr Rahim, who is also Member of Parliament for Siglap, praises the chairman of Siglap CCC for his energetic contributions to the community. Mr Lee observes that the democratic system is functioning well in Siglap, where Mr Rahim and the grassroots leaders work closely together.
