Synopsis :Prime Minister Lee Kuan speaks in Malay and Hokkien at the Taxi Drivers' Association Lunar New Year Celebration. He talks briefly about the future of private taxi drivers ploughing the routes in Singapore and inner Malaysia. PM Lee then relates and explains the situation between Singapore and Malaysia; he gives the background to Singapore's separation from Malaysia. He also highlights the tension with neighbouring Indonesia. He calls for the people to unite and face the challenges. PM Lee then proceeds to announce the plan to register all citizens of Singapore, and matters concerning the issuing of Singapore work permits.
