    This is an interview by Minister for Finance Mr Lim Kim San. Mr Lim deals with the following questions:

    1) What are the economic effects of the confrontation with Indonesia?
    2) What will happen if British troops had to leave Singapore? Would Singapore remain economically viable?
    3) Would he prefer that the British base remain in Singapore?
    4) Who would fill in the military and political vacuum created by the withdrawal of British troops?
    5) Would Singapore consider opening trade negotiations with Indonesia should negotiations with Malaysia fail?
