Synopsis :Recording, broadcast over Radio Channel II (Malay), contains the results of the National Referendum 1962 on Merger and Malaysia held on 1st September. The results are read in Malay by a Radio commentator. Following the announcement of the results are excerpts of Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew's victory speech (in Malay), in which he emphasizes the 'clear and decisive decision of the people of Singapore for Merger and Malaysia'. Both the results and PM Lee's speech are broadcast directly from the Singapore Badminton Hall, Guillemard Road. The title in Malay reads as: Kenyataan Pungutan Suara.
