Synopsis :This 'National Song Competition' programme was broadcasted 'live' from the Radio Auditorium. The compeition is to select a Singaporean representative for the 3rd ABU (Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union) Popular Song Contest - 1987. The guest-of-honour for the competition is Dr Arthur Beng, MP for Fengshan and Chairman of the Government Parliamentary for Communications and Information.
The programme is hosted by SAF Corproal, Leslie Pillay, and Geraldine Ng. Guest artists of the compeition include Richie Ricardo and Melita. There are 12 entries vying to be the winner of the competition. The panel of judges for the competition are: Dick Lee; Ken Lim; Jeremy Monterio; Muhammad Nasir; Peter Thomas; Reggie Verghese; and Steven Lee.
