  • Synopsis :

    The ‘Young Talents’ programme, hosted by presenter Kelvin Tan, is a series that puts the spotlight on young Singaporeans talented in music, dance, and painting.  In this episode, Kelvin Tan interviews a ballet dancer, a visual artist, and an oboe player to learn more about their talents and background.

    Xie Meixin is a young ballet dancer taught by Miss Goh Soo Khim, principal of the Singapore Ballet Academy. This episode features Meixin performing the ‘Clown Ballet’, accompanied by fellow dancers Joanne Lee and Elizabeth Kim. Soundbite of Meixin’s mother, Mrs Dorothy Cheah.

    Wang Guoqiang is an Art Elective Programme student at the Chinese High School. This episode features Guoqiang demonstrating how a batik painting is made. Soundbite of Guoqiang’s art teacher at the Chinese High School, Miss Ruth Ng Lee Gek.

    18-year-old Elaine Yang Huimin is an oboe player who plays with the Singapore Youth Orchestra under maestro Vivien Goh. This episode features Elaine performing ‘Concertante for flute, oboe, and piano’ (Moscheles) and Sonata in G Minor, 1st movement (JS Bach), accompanied by pianist Cheong Lai Foon.
