  • Synopsis :

    This is a direct telecast of the opening ceremony of the 7th South East Asia Peninsula (SEAP) Games at the National Stadium. It is hosted by Singapore in 1973.

    The ceremony starts with the arrival of President Benjamin Sheares, followed by the entrance of the national teams. Mr E. W. Barker, President of the SEAP organising committe, then gives a speech at the tribune and President Benjamin Sheares proclaims the SEAP Games open. The flame lighting  and oath taking ceremony follows the proclaimation.

    The celebrations of the opening ceremony is then followed by various performances and dances from various schools.

    The programme is accompanied by commentators in English and Malay.
