Television Singapura, Singapore’s first television station began transmissions in 1963. Following its merger with Radio Singapura to create a single broadcasting entity, the Singapore government unveiled a new Television Centre on 26 August 1966. At the opening ceremony, Mr Lee celebrated the advent of television as a transformative force in the nation.
