  • Synopsis :

    The programme features Dr Ong Swee Law. Dr Ong is considered the "father" of two zoos, i.e. Singapore Zoological Gardens (SZG) and Night Safari. Dr Ong, then Chairman of the Public Utilities Board (PUB), proposed to build a zoo at the Seletar Reservoir in 1968. The programme features an interview with Dr Ong. Dr Ong talks about staff management and ensuring that the zoo remains attractive to visitors.

    Others interviewed include Khong Kit Soon [PUB's Chief Water Engineer (1965-1970)], Mrs Molly Ong (wife of Dr Ong), Lyn de Alwis (Consultant, SZG), Bernard Harrison (Chief Executive, SZG), Subash Chandra [Senior Manager (Operations), SZG] and See Juat Chin [Director (Corporate Services) SZG]. They speak about their interactions with Dr Ong and how Dr Ong built up the zoos.
