    1.  Khmer Rouge leader Pol Pot's days may be numbered and with it the end of one of the century's most brutal regimes. Senior Cambodian military officials say he has been surrounded and under attack from some one thousand rebels from his own army.

China considers the island a renegade Chinese province and hopes the return of both Hongkong and Macau will pave the way for reunification with Taiwan.
    5.  Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh has been sentenced to death for the worst mass murder in American history. The 29 year old Gulf War Veteran sat emotionless, as the jury announced their decision after just 11 hours of deliberations. McVeigh was earlier convicted of the 1995 bombing of a federal building that killed 168 people.

    7.  In Malaysia, five people died when a helicopter crashed in the Sri Damansara Industrial Area, outside Kuala Lumpur at about 11 this morning. Three of the dead, including the pilot and co-pilot, were found in the wreckage. The other two killed, were a pregnant woman and her five year old daughter walking along the road. They were believed to be Indonesians. Police said the aircraft had been installing a transmitter on top of a 100 metre factory tower block.

It's still not known what caused the crash. Eye witnesses said the helicopter had been in the air for about 30 minutes, when it started swaying left and right, before plunging to the ground. Today's incident is Malaysia's third major helicopter crash this year.

    8.  Antiques from Thailand may be popular with collectors but as our correspondent Geraldine Goh will tell you, picking up the real thing from the antiquities market, needs a trained eye.
    9.  The National Kidney Foundation has come up with a new exercise programme for kidney failure patients.
