Synopsis :

When the Monkey King goes ashore, he approaches a woodcutter for advice. The woodcutter tells him about the Patriarch Puti who lives in a cave on a high and beautiful mountain nearby. Before long the Monkey King meets the Patriarch. After learning about where he came from and how he was born, the Patriarch remarks that the Monkey King was born of Heaven and Earth. While giving him a surname, Sun, and a Buddhist name, Wukong, the Patriarch also provides an explanation of the names.
