Title: Bureng Puteh
This song was performed by the Empress Victoria Jawi Peranakan Theatrical Company, which was formed in the late 1800s by a Parsi businessman in Penang. The troupe was popular in Singapore, and performed a series of well-received plays in North Bridge Road in the early 1900s. In 1906, Beka Records sent a recording team to Singapore as part of its first recording expedition to Asia. The Empress Victoria Jawi Peranakan Theatrical Company was one of the performers who recorded for the German label during this trip.
