  • Background Information: THE JUNCTION OF TIONG BAHRU ROAD AND KIM PONG ROAD. The junction of Tiong Bahru Road and Kim Pong Road, with hawker carts in front of a coffee shop, served as the transportation pick-up point for British Military Administration employees in the 1950s. Kim Pong Road also served as the access road for the fire brigade to fight fire in Bukit Ho Swee area during the 1950s and 1960s.
