Foreign Secret Cons. 21 Aug 1819 No. 6 - Letter to Vander Capellen, Governor General of the Netherlandish Possessions in East Indies, in response to the questioning of the legitimacy of the prince with whom Raffles has entered into the treaty of Singapore. The British also defend their action in Singapore and claim that no force was used on the local chiefs in the treaties entered into.
