Communities of Singapore (Part 2)
About Project
The Communities of Singapore project records the early life, customs, traditions, religions, institutions and social relations of early immigrants and inhabitants of Singapore. Part 2 covers the Indian community, of whom the majority in Singapore are Tamils. Almost all the interviewees were born before World War II. Some held jobs in the colonial service office, while others were wage labourers or ran businesses.
