The friendship between Thailand and the Republic of Singapore has endured from the earliest days until the reign of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Diplomatic relations between the two nations was established on 20 Sept 1965, soon after Singapore became independent. His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit as well as other members of the royal family have visited Singapore.

Their Majesties the King and Queen visited Singapore in 1950, 1951 and 1962. In addition, H.R.H. Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn and H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn made official visits to various important places in Singapore such as the Tengah Air Base of the Republic of Singapore Air Force, Tuas Naval Base of the Republic of Singapore Navy, National University of Singapore, Child and Youth Centre for Mental Recovery, and the Chinese High School, among others. These visits of high-ranking officials of both countries have increased the friendship between the two countries and promoted more cooperation in many areas.
