OFFICIAL VISIT BY MINISTER FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS GEORGE YEO TO THE DEMOCRATIC PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF KOREA (DPRK) AND THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA (PRC): MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS PRESS STATEMENT, 9 MAY 2008

Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo will make an official visit to the DPRK from 10-14 May 2008 at the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs Pak Ui Chun.  During his visit, Minister Yeo will also tour Gaesong City and Nampo Port.

 

            Minister Yeo will then make an official visit to the PRC from 14-18 May 2008 at the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs Yang Jiechi.  Minister Yeo will first visit Dandong City in Liaoning Province and meet with local leaders.  He will then proceed to Beijing to call on State Councillor Dai Bingguo, Foreign Minister Yang and other senior Chinese leaders.

 

            Minister Yeo will be accompanied by Mrs Yeo and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in both the DPRK and PRC.  Minister Yeo will also be accompanied by a business delegation while in the DPRK.
