2 The overwhelming majority of residents here supported the project. This enabled work to start in April last year. In the one year that it took to complete the work, some inconvenience was unavoidable. But the results make it all worthwhile. The whole neighbourhood looks wonderful.

3 We paid particular attention to lifts, lift lobbies, covered linkways and public amenities like a study corner for students and a senior citizens’ corner at Blk 705. We also repainted the RC centre, eating houses, shops and other areas. We have also built an amphitheatre for public performances and gatherings.

4 Having upgraded the neighbourhood, all of us have a responsibility to help keep it clean and well-maintained. We need to strengthen our community spirit and look after each other's home. The Residents' Committee play a very important role in making Kampong Kembangan Reservoir Rise a good place to live in. The RC members have done a very good job. I hope more residents will come forward to contribute.

5 Looking at the region around us, we are very fortunate to live in Singapore. We enjoy peace, economic growth and social harmony. All this is only possible because we have a good government which is close to the people. We must continue to guard and protect this precious link between the people and the government. Thank you.
