Synopsis :

This is a recording of speeches delivered by the Commander, Maritime Command HQ, and Minister for Communications Yong Nyuk Lin at the Commissioning Ceremony of a new warship the RSS Freedom on 14 February 1971 at the Jurong Marine Base.

The Minister speaks about how this new addition will help strengthen Singapore's defence potential and boost the country's defence preparedness.

Following the Minister's speech, several religious leaders of Singapore give their blessings in 5 languages for the new warship.

The Minister then reads aloud the Commissioning Certificate.
