Sg based Malay opera company formed out of the former Union Star Opera Co. with which K. Dean performed up until early 1928. He had formed his own company by May, 1928 (*). Intitally known as Dean’s Union Opera of Singapore, later as Dean’s Star Opera Co. (**) and had become Dean’s Grand Opera by 1934, Dean’s United Opera by 1936, the Dean Opera Co. by 1937 and was still active as Dean’s Malay Opera as late as 1949.
